Write a headline with one clear promise
Name the service, then add a meaningful specialism if you have one. “Web designer for service businesses” is easier to assess than a string of unrelated roles. Do not add credentials, years of experience or results you cannot substantiate.
Use the opening to explain fit
In a short paragraph, explain what you make, who it serves and the common scope. Then describe the process: inputs, collaboration, review and handover. Repeat keywords only when they help the reader; a list of near-identical phrases makes the profile harder to use.
Connect each claim to evidence
Put the closest portfolio example next to the relevant service. If you say you design responsive websites, show the responsive work and explain your contribution. If you work with a particular sector, demonstrate relevant understanding rather than listing industries indiscriminately.
Review enquiry quality, not just views
Track whether conversations match your service, budget and availability. If the wrong projects keep arriving, clarify the scope and exclusions. Ask prospective clients for a short brief and timeline so you can respond usefully. Profile wording alone cannot guarantee platform visibility.
Common questions
Should I repeat keywords throughout my profile?
Use accurate terms naturally. Clear evidence and a coherent offer are more useful to a reader than repeated synonyms.
Does a profile rewrite guarantee more work?
No. Demand, competition, experience and your response process also affect results. Monitor relevant enquiries after changes.
